Official Inauguration on December 7
On December 7, the official inauguration will be presided over by the Archbishop of Paris, Laurent Ulrich. The event will take place in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron and international guests, including heads of state and government, as well as members of the diocese, patrons, and representatives of Parisian parishes. This liturgical celebration, featuring a blessing alongside a Magnificat or Te Deum, and Vespers, will also mark the awakening of the organ.
Feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8
On December 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, the first Mass in years will be celebrated, including a consecration of the altar. While the details of the festivities remain under wraps, the event promises to draw a large audience for a moment that is both spiritual and cultural. Inside the renovated cathedral, nearly 3,000 people are expected to attend.
For visitors eager to rediscover the cathedral, public access will begin on December 9. A free reservation system has been organized to enhance the experience. Meanwhile, Notre-Dame's iconic forecourt has been completely redesigned to provide a more welcoming, green, and contemplative space.
