An Artistic Journey Paying Tribute to the Spirit of Saint-Germain-des-Prés
As part of the Carré Rive Gauche and on the occasion of the "Extraordinary Object" event from June 4 to 8, the Hôtel de Lille invites photographer Michel Tréhet for an artist residency. The exhibition will be held at the hotel and in a dozen galleries in the neighborhood, each showcasing a photographic work by Michel Tréhet in their spaces and windows.
Our 7th arrondissement neighborhood is brimming with talent, history, and remarkable personalities.
The Hôtel de Lille Saint-Germain-des-Prés, dedicated to the art and great artistic figures of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, has been highlighting its neighbors and friends—gallery owners, antique dealers, artists, and restaurateurs—through portraits and interviews for several years.
The Carrément Rive Gauche Exhibition by Photographer Michel Tréhet
Michel Tréhet, in artistic residence at the Hôtel de Lille since 2023, offers an artistic journey through our neighborhood.
A Miss de Lille, imagined by the artist, guides us through its iconic places, hidden spots, favorite haunts, bookstalls along the Seine, jazz cellars, cafés, antique galleries, vintage shops, and the florist at Place Fürstenberg.
This residency was born from the meeting between Philippe Daucet, director of the Hôtel de Lille, Michel Trehet, photographer, and Colombe de La Taille, artistic director, driven by a strong desire to share the timeless essence of Saint-Germain-des-Prés—its scents, lights, and joyful living—in a playful and aesthetic manner.
The Carrément Rive Gauche exhibition exudes the charming spirit of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, immersing you in the vibrant life of Paris’s 6th and 7th arrondissements, between the banks of the Seine and Boulevard Saint-Germain.
The Carré Rive Gauche, which annually gathers the neighborhood's galleries, organizes the 5 Days of the Extraordinary Object, a festive, friendly, and unmissable event. Under the banner of Arts and Culture, the event highlights exceptional pieces worthy of the greatest collections.
