When La Dolce Vita Comes to Life: "From the Heart to the Hand"
Categories : Exhibitions / Museums, published on : 1/20/25
After its resounding success at the Palazzo Reale in Milan, the exhibition has arrived in Paris, the city of love and elegance.
Spanning over 1,200 square meters and through ten immersive rooms, you will be transported into the passionate and baroque world of the Italian duo.
Each displayed piece is a work of art: sumptuous hand-embroidered dresses, mosaics inspired by Byzantine Sicily, and jewel creations worthy of the greatest European courts.
Under the direction of renowned curator Florence Müller, this exhibition reveals an exceptional heritage that blends craftsmanship and modernity.
Visitors will discover how Domenico Dolce, from a small Sicilian village, and Stefano Gabbana, born in Milan, combine their influences to create a fashion that celebrates Italy in all its diversity.
From the intricate embroidery inspired by the mosaics of Monreale to the sculptural dresses evoking the baroque stuccoes of Palermo, each creation tells a story.
The exhibition also honors the designers' love for opera, cinema, and Italian popular art, with references to Visconti's film The Leopard and icons like Sophia Loren.
